Jewish Artifact Education

‘Learning from the artifacts and memorabilia of our history’.

Jewish Artifact Education presents to student groups of all ages visual programs on a variety of topics of interest to the Jewish community.  These can be stand-alone presentations or a series of in-depth studies. The focus can be sharpened in connection with a particular group’s interest or course of study. (See below for a list of suggested topics.)

* Programs are presented through digital tools such as powerpoint.

* Display of actual artifacts can also be arranged.

* Staff workshops on How to Introduce Artifact Study in to the Classroom are offered as well.

We have been working in Jewish education for several decades and all the while collecting Judaic artifacts.  Our specialty is combining the two for a deeper learning experience.

A web-based gallery of artifacts illuminating Jewish History.

The old adage "A picture is worth a thousand words" underlies this project.  We believe that illustrations enhance teaching and convey information in non-verbal ways.  More importantly, they give one a sense of immediacy.

- I am looking at something that was there, that was held in someone's hand.  Artifacts stimulate the mind by invoking questions: "Who, what, where, when, why"'.

Now, everyone within reach of a computer has access to a wide-ranging collection of items, each of which was selected for the unique message it conveys.

The collection is built around several topics of popular interest, such as the Struggle for Israel and the Holocaust.  (More topics are being added.)  It is intended for teaching, research, bulletin boards, reports, etc.

All of the artifacts can be viewed in the Gallery
